In the health and wellness industry there is other aspects that need to be considered. Along with nutrition, exercise and water we need to take into account the systems of the body. In other words how does the body work so that we can enjoy and experience wellness? Without this basic awareness we do not understand what needs to be done. The human body systems control and activate responses to conditions that occur in our body. If one or more of theses systems of the body are compromised then we feel unwell and do not enjoy optimal health.
The systems that we have are the circulatory system, digestive, endocrine, immune, lymphatic, muscular ,nervous, reproductive, respiratory, skeletal and urinary systems. These systems work independently or in conjunction with each other. I would say that all conditions that we experience are normally a breakdown in these body systems.
The circulatory system is the bodies transport system. It is made up of many organs that transport the blood throughout the body and carry the necessary nutrients and oxygen to every cell in the body. This enables the cells to do what they have been designed to do. On the return voyage the blood carry’s carbon dioxide, waste products and water to be eliminated.
The digestive system breaks down food into protein, vitamins , minerals, carbohydrates and fats which the body needs for energy, growth , and repair. The digestive system also makes these nutrients usable for the cells.
The endocrine system is made up of glands that produce the body’s long- distance messengers, or hormones. Hormones are chemicals that control the body functions, such as metabolism and growth.
The immune system is our body’s defense system against infection and diseases. Organs, tissue, and cell products work together to respond to these abnormal invaders that causes you to be unwell. There are three types of response systems in the immune system. These are the anatomic response, the inflammatory system and the immune response.
The lymphatic system is also a defense system of the body. The basic function is to filter out organisms that cause disease, produces white blood cells and generates disease-fighting antibodies.
The nervous system is one of the most important ones of the body, for it is the body’s control. It sends and receives and process nerve impulses throughout the body. This system tells all parts of the body what to do. There are three parts to your nervous system the central nervous system, the peripheral system and the autonomic system.
These are the main systems of the body that have major impact to our health and wellness. If these are compromised then our state of health will suffer and we will feel unwell. It is not good enough to climb
